Sister Elizabeth Kenny
Sister Elizabeth Kenny (1880 in Warialda-1952 in Toowooomba) was an Australian nurse who achieved renown for her innovative treatment of Poliomyelitis before a vaccine was discovered by Jonas Salk. Her life story was told in the 1946 movie Sister Kenny starring Rosalind Russell.
